Silent Witness display set for Tahlequah

October 17, 2008 06:43 pm

The Silent Witness display will be in Tahlequah from 11 a.m. until early evening on Oct. 22 at Norris Park.
The Silent Witness Project is a national initiative to honor those who were murdered by current or former intimate partners. Each life-sized red silhouette represents someone who once lived, worked and had friends and family before death. Each person was someone’s child, neighbor or sibling.
The Oklahoma Silent Witness Initiative honors more than 200 individuals ranging in age from 3 months to 77 years of age. Men, women and children are represented as each died violently at the hand of someone who was supposed to love them.
Call the Help-In-Crisis office at 456-0673 for locations and times for Wagoner, Stilwell and Sallisaw.
